Affordable Comfort: Fried Breaded Chicken Cutlet
Welcome back to my culinary corner of delicious affordable
meals. Today, we are cooking a classic combination that never fails to satisfy.
I breaded and fried chicken cutlets I got from Giant, creamy Idahoan mashed potatoes, and tender
green beans I either get at Walmart or Giant. This meal is not only comforting but also easy on the wallet. It's
the kind of dish that brings warmth to the table without emptying your pockets.
Despite involving a bit of multitasking, it's surprisingly quick and can be
ready in just 15 minutes. So, let's dive into how to prepare this delicious dish.
Instructions:
To start, you have the option to cook each cutlet
individually in a smaller pan or together in a larger pan. Personally, I prefer
using a smaller pan as it uses less oil. Begin by heating up some oil in the
pan, filling it to around half the thickness of your chicken. While the oil
heats, crack an egg into a bowl and whisk it up. Then, take a plate and cover
it with breadcrumbs. Coat each chicken cutlet with egg, then generously coat
them in breadcrumbs. Once your oil is hot, carefully place your cutlets in the
pan. Let them cook until the bottom side is golden brown, then flip them to
cook the other side.
While the cutlets cook, it's time to prepare the sides. In a
pot, boil 2/3 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of butter. As that mixture heats
up, open a can of green beans, and place them in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave the green beans for 3-4 minutes until heated through. Once the water
in the pot reaches a boil, remove it from the heat and whisk in 1/3 cup of milk
and Idahoan mashed potato flakes until you reach your desired thickness.
