Culinary Discovery: Flavorful Lemon Pepper Broiled Salmon
Sometimes, the most satisfying dishes come together through
unexpected finds. Picture this: stumbling upon a large, wild pink salmon fillet
at an unbeatable price at Burkholder’s Grocery Store in Penns Valley, PA. Paired
with Great Value convenient sweet potatoes at Walmart and the
simplicity of Giant’s fresh asparagus. Any time I see salmon at a good price I
purchase it. This meal cost me around $8 and took 15 minutes to prepare.
Instructions:
What you’re going to want to do is put some olive oil on your salmon, then season with lemon pepper, salt, garlic salt, and onion powder. Be generous. Place your asparagus on a plate and coat in olive oil and season with the same seasonings used on the salmon. Place the salmon in the oven on broil. After about 5 minutes, place asparagus in the oven. Cook until the salmon is flakey and has a crispy crust. The asparagus should be done at the same time as the salmon. Around 4 minutes before the salmon is done, place the bag of great value sweet potatoes in the microwave and follow the directions on the bag. I dusted a layer of cinnamon and sugar on the sweet potatoes. Plate and you’re ready to eat!
I hope I have demonstrated that this tasty meal of salmon,
asparagus, and sweet potatoes, is not only versatile and delicious but also
cost-effective and nutritious. From the savory broiled salmon seasoned to
perfection, to the tender-crisp asparagus spears bursting with flavor, and the
sweet potatoes offering a pleasant balance of sweetness and earthiness, this
meal has proven that eating well doesn't have to mean spending a lot of money.
Whether enjoyed as a quick weeknight dinner or as a special occasion feast,
this trio of ingredients embodies the essence of affordable gourmet.
