Amazing Burgers on a Budget: State Burger Co., Bellefonte, PA
In the heart of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, lies State Burger
with the ultimate burger menu. The experience begins before you walk in the
door, as you check out their creative and custom special offers on their
chalkboard. Once you walk through the front door, you enter a fun and modern
environment with whimsical photos of cows on the wall. You are greeted with a
warm welcome and are then shown to your table. They bring the menus out and
everyone starts to customize their burger. For the burger alone you have seven
options. Ranging from beef to chicken to elk to salmon to veggie. The burgers
are made fresh and are cooked to perfection. When it comes to choosing the bun,
I had to go with the brioche, but they have six other options including
gluten-free. Now it’s time to “get cheesy”, there are seven different kinds to
choose from. I had to go with Muenster. Ever since I was a kid, Muenster cheese
has been my favorite and it is hard to find a burger place that has it. The
next part is where you customize the toppings. With the burger you get three
“freebies”. You can also get many premium toppings for an extra charge. I had
to splurge 95 cents and get a fried egg, it’s a personal favorite. One unique
thing about this menu is their spreads like bacon jam, guacamole, grape jam,
hot cheese & chicken, and/or marshmallow fluff. Some of those are
questionable in my mind but someone must like it. When it comes to dressings,
you get two with the burger and any additional are extra. They have 22
different dressings, so if you can think of it, they probably have it. Lastly
you can add a dusting to your French fries. I chose garlic parm, but they all
sound amazing. All of the choices are easily viewed on their website menu.
Now I didn’t go into their appetizer menu, which looks
amazing, but I will definitely be back. What I did have was a white
chocolate mint milkshake. The milkshakes at State Burger are some of the bests.
I highly recommend that you check out State Burger in Bellefonte, Pa and while
you’re at it, take some time to stroll the town and see all the businesses and
the beautiful park.
