My Favorite Tacos in State College, PA: Lupita’s Authentic Mexican Food
Lupita's is a hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of a
large gas station at the intersection of College Ave. and Whitehall Rd in State
College, PA. You might drive by this place and not even know it. I recommend
you stop by sometime. The customer service is outstanding. After a couple of
times of me visiting, the worker remembered my order and asked if I wanted a
chicken and a barbacoa beef taco on flour. To this day he still greets me and
without asking has my order on the screen. They are quick and have your food
ready in around five minutes, that is of course if they aren’t super busy. My
favorite thing on the menu is the barbacoa beef tacos. The flavor is just out
of this world. The beef is tender, and you can tell it’s fresh. There is juice so
make sure to roll your sleeves up. I also enjoy their chicken tacos. It’s
nicely seasoned and full of lean protein. A really nice addition is their fresh salsa and sauce bar. There are many options from mild to very spicy. You're going to have to try these yourself because I enjoy the food without anything extra. I will get both these tacos, squeeze
the limes on them, and eat the chicken first. I feel it prepares the palate to
be able to really taste the seasonings and spices. Afterwards, I eat the barbacoa
beef because the flavoring really stands out. I have also had their tostados
before. They are a little difficult to eat but very delicious. This place is a
must try.
